The official airport taxi operates around the clock, but the number of cars drops after midnight and you may wait longer than the near-immediate service you get during the day.
The good news is that the fare does not move. Queen Alia's official taxi is not metered — it charges a fixed price by destination zone from the Ministry of Transport's approved list — so a 3 AM arrival pays the same zone price as a midday one, and there is no night surcharge to argue about. Buy at the taxi booth (indoors in arrivals, or outdoors at Exit 1) rather than accepting an offer from someone in the hall. The booth takes cash in any currency and Visa/Mastercard.
Airport Express bus at night
The Sariyah Airport Express keeps running late, with reduced frequency — roughly hourly rather than every half hour. The operator's published schedule runs until around 03:00, and on Fridays transfers are hourly throughout. At the operator's published fare of 3.4 JOD it remains the cheapest option if you can align with the timetable, but check the current schedule before you count on it.
From the 7th Circle, finding a regular taxi at 1 AM is possible but less convenient. Factor this into your planning.
