Bradley International Airport is about 20 km north of Hartford in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. It also serves Springfield, Massachusetts (25 km north) and much of the Connecticut River Valley.
The one published fare
The CT Transit Bradley Flyer (Route 30) runs from the airport to downtown Hartford for USD 1.75 one way (CTtransit, the operator). That is the only ground-transport fare from Bradley that is published and checkable, and it is dramatically cheaper than any other option. The trade-off is time (40-55 minutes), frequency (every 30 minutes at peak, hourly off-peak), and limited luggage space. The bus runs from roughly 5 AM to midnight and stops at the ground level of the terminal.

What the other options actually cost
Taxis are metered, and Connecticut regulates the rate: meters run on a tariff approved by the state Department of Transportation for each taxicab territory, with a drop rate, a per-fraction-of-a-mile rate and a waiting-time rate. That schedule is not published on the airport's website — Bradley's own guidance is to call the taxi desk to ask about fares. We are not going to print a figure we cannot source.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) fares are dynamic by design. They move with demand, and surge pricing on Sunday evenings, holiday weekends and in bad weather can push a fare to double the normal rate — sometimes past what a taxi would charge. Pre-booked transfers are quoted per booking, based on distance and vehicle, and fixed at that price. They do not surge, and time stuck on I-91 at rush hour is not added to your fare. That predictability is the trade against a meter or an app.
What affects pricing
Rush hour on I-91 (7-9 AM, 4-6 PM) adds time, and on a metered taxi it adds cost. Rideshare fares fluctuate with demand independently of traffic. Pre-booked transfers change with neither.
Tolls
Connecticut does not have highway tolls on the routes between Bradley Airport and Hartford. There are no hidden toll costs to factor into your fare.
Tipping
Tip taxi and rideshare drivers 15-20% in the US. This is expected, not optional. Pre-booked transfer tips are also customary at similar rates.
