Zakynthos is a small island — even the furthest resort areas are under an hour from the airport. We could not locate an official, published taxi fare list for Zakynthos airport routes, so no fixed prices are quoted below. What follows is the distance to each resort area, which is the one thing we can state with confidence; treat any specific figure quoted elsewhere as unofficial until your driver or transfer operator confirms it.

To Argassi (5 km south)
Argassi is just south of the town, a popular resort strip.
To Tsilivi (8 km north)
Tsilivi is one of the most popular family resort areas on the island.
To Laganas (12 km south)
Laganas is the liveliest resort on the island and the most booked destination from ZTH. It borders the protected loggerhead turtle nesting area.
To Kalamaki (14 km south)
Kalamaki is quieter than Laganas and adjacent to it.
To Keri / Lithakia (20 km south)
The far southern tip of the island.
To Alykes / Alykanas (18 km north)
The northern resort strip, quieter and popular with families.
To Navagio / Volimes / Porto Vromi area (35 km north)
The furthest practical destination from the airport. The Navagio area is in the mountainous north. Taxis in this area are very scarce — pre-booking return transport is essential if you stay here.
What affects the price
Night surcharge: Greek taxis apply a higher tariff (Tariff 2) between midnight and 5 AM under national law. We could not verify the current surcharge percentage — ask your driver or transfer operator for the applicable night rate. Pre-booked transfers may or may not include a late fee.
Vehicle size: Minivans cost more than a standard sedan (up to 4 passengers) and are worth booking ahead for larger families — confirm the supplement with your transfer operator, as we could not verify a standard figure.
Season: In peak July-August, transfer availability (not necessarily price) is the variable that matters most — book early.
Is there a cheap option?
There is no bus from the airport. The cheapest option after a taxi is a taxi to Zakynthos Town and then a local bus, but local buses are infrequent and not practical with luggage. For budget travellers, sharing a taxi or transfer with other passengers heading in the same direction can reduce individual cost.
