Tampa International Airport is about 10 km (6 miles) west of downtown Tampa. The drive takes 15 to 25 minutes outside rush hour. TPA is well-organized. After deplaning, you take the automated people mover (SkyConnect) from your airside terminal to the main terminal. Baggage claim is on Level 1. The terminal is clean, clearly signed, and rarely overwhelming. Once you have your bags, ground transportation is on the same level. Ride-hailing pickup is at the designated area on Level 1 of the Blue Short Term Parking garage, accessible via a covered walkway. Taxis queue at the curb on Level 1 of the Red Side. If you have a pre-booked transfer, your driver will typically meet you at the arrivals curb or in the cell phone lot area, depending on the service.

Ride-hailing (Uber/Lyft): The most popular choice. Request your ride from the app and follow signs to the designated pickup area in the Blue parking garage. Wait times are usually 3-10 minutes. The app shows you the fare before you confirm — treat that quote as the real price, since it moves with demand and can rise sharply during peak hours or events.

Taxi: Metered taxis line up at the Red Side curb.
