Palm Beach International Airport gives you multiple ground transport options. The right choice depends on where you are going, how many people are in your group, and what kind of arrival experience you prefer.

The ride-share option

Uber and Lyft dominate the PBI ground transport scene, as they do across South Florida. The pickup area is on the second level of the parking garage, a short walk via the skybridge from baggage claim. Wait times are typically 3-8 minutes during the day, occasionally longer at night or during peak hours.

Pricing is dynamic and set by the app, so there is no fixed fare to publish - it can double during surge. You see the price before confirming, which provides some control. Taxis wait at the lower level outside baggage claim. No app needed, no walking to a garage. You get in and go. Rates are not standardised across operators, so read the rate on the door and check it matches the meter drop - that is the figure that governs your fare, not a number in a guide. The advantage is immediacy and simplicity. The disadvantage is that you do not see the fare until the end, and during heavy traffic the meter keeps running.

PBI is well-served by all three options. For short hops, ride-shares are efficient and affordable. For longer trips, larger groups, or anyone who prefers certainty, a pre-booked transfer justifies its cost. Taxis fill the middle ground for travelers who want simplicity without an app.
