La Palma Airport has a bus line, taxis from a marked stop and rental cars. Many visitors also pre-book a private transfer. Which one fits depends on where you are going and what you carry.
When the bus makes sense
Aena lists line 500, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Los Cancajos and the airport, with hours of 7:15 to 22:45 on working days Monday to Saturday and 7:45 to 22:45 on Sundays and public holidays. It may suit a light-luggage traveller going to those places. Call 922 411 924 or 922 414 441 for the timetable. The fare is not on the Aena page.

When a taxi is the right call
Take the taxi from the marked stop at the passenger terminal and ask for a receipt. The fare is metered under tariffs that Aena publishes: on working days from 6:00 to 22:00, a minimum fare of 3.85 EUR, 1.35 EUR per km and a 2.10 EUR airport supplement. The total depends on the route, and the tariffs are those in force under the 2023 Canary Islands bulletin cited by Aena.
When a pre-booked transfer makes sense
Villages off the bus line: the west and north of the island are far from line 500, and a transfer goes to the door.
Groups and children: a larger vehicle can be arranged in advance, and a child seat can be requested with the child's age and weight.
Late arrivals: the arrangement is confirmed before you fly. Check the booking confirmation for how delays are handled.
Price: it is shown when you request a quote and confirmed at booking.
Meeting your driver
If meet-and-greet is included in your booking, the driver meets you as stated in the booking confirmation. If not, the confirmation says where to meet.
The bottom line
For Santa Cruz de La Palma or Los Cancajos with light luggage, check line 500. For anywhere else, or with children and bags, a taxi or a pre-booked transfer saves the last leg.
