Nashville is a night city — the honky-tonks on Broadway run until 3 AM, and the airport handles late flights accordingly. If your flight lands after 22:00, here is what you are working with.
Uber and Lyft after dark
Both apps operate 24 hours. Drivers are generally available even at 1 AM or 2 AM, but late-night arrivals face two challenges:
1. Surge pricing. Friday and Saturday nights are the worst, especially when Broadway bars close and thousands of people request rides simultaneously. A normal USD 18 fare can spike to USD 35-55 between 22:00 and 02:00. 2. Wait times. During peak surge, you might wait 10-20 minutes in the parking garage pickup zone. The app may show cars nearby but drivers can be slow to accept airport pickups during high-demand periods.
Midweek late arrivals (Monday through Wednesday) rarely have surge issues. Thursday through Saturday is when pricing gets unpredictable.
Taxis at night
The taxi stand operates 24 hours. Late at night, there are fewer cabs waiting, but you will usually find one within a few minutes. The metered fare to downtown is about USD 25-35 regardless of the hour — no surge pricing.
For late-night arrivals during events, taxis are often the smarter financial choice.
Pre-booked transfers
A transfer driver will be waiting in arrivals regardless of what time you land. The price is the same as daytime — typically USD 45-65 (EUR 41-59) to downtown. If your flight is delayed, the driver tracks it.
This is the most stress-free option for anyone arriving after midnight, especially if you have luggage, kids, or just want to get to your hotel without standing in a parking garage scrolling through apps.
Public transit
Forget it. The WeGo Bus Route 18 stops running around 22:00. There is no late-night public transit option from BNA.
The airport after hours
- Most restaurants and shops close by 22:00-23:00
- The terminal stays open and heated/cooled
- WiFi works throughout
- ATMs and vending machines available
- Ground transportation signs remain lit and operational
Tips for late arrivals
- Check Uber/Lyft prices before leaving the terminal. If surge is high, walk to the taxi stand instead.
- Have a backup plan. During major events, both rideshares and taxis can have waits.
- Pre-book a transfer if arriving on a Friday or Saturday night during event season. The price premium is small compared to surge pricing.
- Connect to WiFi at the terminal to check app prices and request rides before heading to the garage.
